Zendak is Garrek's longest friend. They met as kits and grew up together. They were virtually inseperable companions and even shared the same girlfriend, Kassi, as older teenagers. Zendak took a career though that enabled him to stay with Kassi and commit to having a family, so won her as his mate. When years of trying failed to get Kassi pregnant, he was the first to suggest that Garrek would make an ideal potential sire. Zendak honestly loves his friend so much that he would do anything for Garrek, including sharing his mate.
